Equipment maintenance
is essential to the operation
of a golf course. Equipment needs to be brought in for general upkeep such as oil and
filter changing. With many pieces of equipment required to keep a golf course in
pristine condition, tracking these requirements can be frustrating and timely.
MainLink's maintenance manager simpifies these requirements substantially.

A typical golf
course has many maintenance
employees and equipment working randomly around the course. Locating them is
time consuming, costly, hard on equipment and lowers work productivity.
The MainLink program allows the superintendent to review staff and
equipment locations by simply entering a specific PIN number and then seeing
exactly where they are on the course. This increases productivity
and reduces wear to equipment.

When the superintendent needs to get a message to a particular staff member,
someone with "ears" usually has to stop what they are doing, go look for them
and relay the message.
The MainLink system allows a message to be sent directly to the worker
via the LCD display. The message is typed at the source computer and
sent via the WLAN network at virtually no cost to the course. A beep
signal is heard by the receiver of the message, who then verifies that they
have received the message.

MainLink's
platform is used to set up and
monitor a golf course's irrigation system. Irrigation control management is
restricted to those with security access, granted by the golf course superintendent.
The system is run using MainLink's wireless "tags", thus making the system independent
of wiring or cell or satellite signals.
