Wireless Mesh "Tags"
The mesh "tag" is the technology that allows
PrisonLink™ functions to work. They are capable of sending and receiving data from
one tag to another until the message is received. Information from the tag is uploaded into
a PDA, PC or laptop. Tags use 6-15 year batteries and do not rely cell or satellite signals,
electricity or telephone wires.

Prisoner Locating & Tracking
A tag is worn by each prisoner with all of his/her information programmed into it. The
location and activity of this tag can be monitored at all times, thus allowing staff to
easily locate and communicate with the prisoner. A motion sensor can also be attached to the
tag to monitor any movement, or lack thereof.

Sensor Monitoring
A tag can be used to monitor virtually any sensor, such as HVAC/R equipment, utility meter,
motion detection, temperature, humidity, kWh consumption and more. The information is
send wirelessly to a central PDA, PC or laptop, where it can be reviewed by the mechanic
or anyone with access to the readout.

Security Features
The tags can be used to activate security cameras, motion detection sensors and relay
the information to the control room. The tags can also be programmed to allow or
deny access to restricted areas. Although the tags work over a long distance, they
may be programmed not to open a door until the person is close to the security tag.

Text & Voice Messaging
Mesh tags can be built into PDA devices or cell phones and used for text messaging. Using
bi-stable lcd technology, sent messages will stay lit up on a screen until responded to
without using additional energy. This greatly impacts battery life. The units may also
be used for voice messaging.

Motor Activation & Maintenance
Tags may be used to activate and monitor motors. This allows for remote control of generators,
HVAC equipment, etc. Since the tags can be hooked up with sensors, it is possible to see how
long a motor has been running, indicate when it needs to be maintained, and shut it on or off as required.
