SchooLink
Monitoring & Management Network
|
|
SchooLink
is a wireless monitoring and management package that allows for a wide range of
functionality associated with daily activities at a typical school. Communication
is enabled using a new technology that is inexpensive to set up, and operate.
CityLink
wireless tags offer a 2-way, self-organizing, self-healing, ad-hoc mesh network
technology. Tags are strategically placed around the property to provide accurate
locating and communication capability within the school's own wireless local
area network (WLAN). This system is not dependent on cell or satellite signals, or any external
energy source. An advanced antenna supplies a secure signal, while longevity is supplied
by a battery with an extensive life of up to 15 years.
Schools may linked if a city wide network is available.

With an expansive range of advanced security features,
CityLink
network tags can be used to locate and communicate with staff, students, buses, parents,
and equipment (BAS monitoring). Panic alarms can be used to activate an alarm and a security
camera, send a message, and locate the source of the alarm. This can be used on personal
devices or used to montior HVAC or other systems.
Since our tags are actually microprocessors, they can be programmed for specific functions.
They have a high data rate and a long range of communication, even indoors. They are not
subject to brownouts or bad weather, and are completely independent.
Tags may be programmed to follow a tag, set off a panic alarm, monitor water and electricity
usage, or turn on a wireless sprinkler system.

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
An area is set up with
CityLink
tags and married up with an aerial map of the property. This area is now a WLAN.
All tags, whether mobile or static, can now be located, tracked, and communicated with.
Each tag is given a unique identification number and programmed for its specific funciton.
The WLAN operator can then access information about an indivual tag and the system it supports.
For example, if the tag is interfaced with HVAC monitoring sensors, all control
and operating conditions are easily available to the operator. This includes reviewing
temperature, humidity and on/off conditions, and starting or shutting off the HVAC unit.
